Kate Hoefler joined OPS as a project manager in May 2016. While she enjoys working in all disciplines, she predominantly assists in the production and development of titles in English, Art, and Psychology. She holds an MFA in poetry from the University of Michigan, where she studied as a Colby Fellow, and a BA in English and Creative Writing from Ohio University. She has taught courses in composition, creative writing (fiction and poetry), and writing-affiliate courses linked with history and mass media. Before joining OPS, Kate worked for Muskingum University’s Roberta A Smith library as the head of circulation.
In addition to being a project manager at OPS, Kate works as a children’s book author. Her first title, Real Cowboys, was published by Houghton Mifflin in October 2016. Forthcoming books include Great Big Things (Houghton Mifflin, October 2017) and Rabbit & the Motorbike (Chronicle Books, 2019).
She makes her home with two children and one cat who encourage her to take breaks from making books in order to feed them.
